Words that bring a Change: Anas Sheikh

We recently had the chance to interview our champion participant in the Letter Writing Contest- Anas Sheikh who left everyone awestruck by writing a letter that pertains to several environmental issues. He is the winner of GEMA’s Letter Writing Competition at the national level. His persistence and diligence at writing as well as oratory was evident throughout the interview.

His topic for the letter was about the several societal issues faced by us like, poverty, climate change and the need for religious peace in our country. His letter was aimed at urging world leaders to take strict actions against all these issues. He also wrote about how combined efforts from all nations can make Earth a better place to live. He is indeed blessed with an evolutionary and humble intellect. He also told us that his parents and teachers encouraged and helped him from the start to the final submission of the letter.

Talking to us, he revealed that it took him two days to write the first draft and later edit and finalise it for submission. He also told us that he loves writing since it allows him to put his weirdest imaginations to words and present it to the world. He also said that he loves writing about peace, environment and human kindness. He aspires to become a writer in the future. His aunt and her passion for writing has been a deliberate source of inspiration for him. He also talked about writing physics books that explain concepts in a fun way and bring a positive change in the world of science.

 He also told us that he enjoys reading books and exploring science and maths as subjects. His favourite topic in mathematics is algebra which proves his intelligence. He also left a message for future participants that they should be self motivated to express their opinion through words as all voices matter in bringing a greater change around the globe. He looks forward to participating in such competitions in the future.

His teacher Ms Usha Nair expressed how proud his school and parents feel on Anas’s victory. He thanked GEMA for this wonderful opportunity and looks forward to even more.

He is indeed an asset of great value to the school as well as the society in the future. We wish him luck for all his future endeavors.
